Managing Database Connections

Elexio Check-In can be configured to access data in a number of different ways. These configurations are saved as Connections. By default, you have three connections already set up in the Kiosk: Online, Offline, or Local.

Online

When configured to work online, Elexio Check-In connects over the internet to your main database on Elexio's servers.

Offline

When configured to work offline, Elexio Check-In connects to a copy of the main database located on your local hard drive. Elexio Check-In will synchronize the local database with the main database when an internet connection is available.

Local

When configured to work locally, Elexio Check-In connects to a computer on your network. This computer contains a copy of the main database located on its local hard drive which is synchronized with the main database whenever an internet connection is available.

Enter the name and TCP port of the computer in your network that is running SQL Server Express and press Save. For more information, see How to Find the Microsoft SQL Server Express TCP Port. The default port is 1261.
