How do I manually install and activate the fingerprint reader?

We designed our software to detect your fingerprint scanner and automatically configure it.  So just plug it in.  Then go to the Kiosk Control Panel - System Options - Account Access - Fingerprint Reader - Use Fingerprint Reader.  That’s it. All of the necessary drivers and support libraries should be automatically configured by Elexio Check-In.

But just in case you need to configure it manually we provide this info below.

NOTE: Due to licensing restrictions by third party software used in Elexio Check-In you are restricted to using this fingerprint scanner on only 1 computer.  You CANNOT move the scanner to another computer so choose carefully which computer will be using the scanner.

Steps

This process requires that you have Administrative Access to your computer.

This process requires that you have the RUN command available on your start menu.

  1. Unplug the fingerprint reader if you already plugged it in.

  2. Go to Start…Run and enter the following command: services.msc
    Find the service named Fingerprint License and stop it if it is running.

  3. Uninstall the Fingerprint Application Support package from the Control Panel or go to Start…Run and enter the following command:MsiExec.exe /X {3DE5A8EE-64C8-40FD-B766-B2787D4051A7}

  4. Uninstall the DigitalPersona Gold Fingerprint Recognition Software package from the Control Panel or go to Start…Run and enter the following command:
    MsiExec.exe /X {CF2BCF99-1A5A-4F0A-923E-29B2E029E66C}

  5. Install the DigitalPersona One Touch for Windows RTE package from this link:

  7. For 64-bit Operating Systems: ururte64.msi

  8. Install the Fingerprint Application Support 2010 from this link: fpsetup2010.exe
    Power off the computer, plug the fingerprint reader into an available USB port, and restart the computer.

  9. Go to Start…Run and enter the following command: services.msc

  10. Find the service named Fingerprint License and start it if it is not running.

  11. Start Elexio Check-In. If the Account Access…Use Fingerprint Reader option is on, the fingerprint scanner will attempt to activate itself on start up. If not, turn on the Account Access…Use Fingerprint Reader system option.

  12. A final reboot may be required in order for the scanner to recognize a fingerprint.
