Fingerprint Access

The Kiosk provides the ability for a person to access their account by using their fingerprints.

Using fingerprints is simple, fast, and secure. First you register one or more of your fingerprints. The system saves enough unique information about your fingerprint to create a template so that a fingerprint reader can later identify you. Your actual fingerprint is not stored, and your actual fingerprint cannot be reconstructed from the template that is created and stored.

When you want to access your account, you touch the fingerprint reader and your fingerprint is compared to the template that was created during the registration process. If there is enough matching information, you are authenticated and access is granted to your account. If there is not enough matching information, the system will not verify you.

Once the fingerprint option is turned on and the kiosk is at the Account Access Screen, the computer is ready to receive fingerprint scans. Simply place a registered finger on the scanner and it will attempt to match it to a reference fingerprint that is assigned to a person's account. There is no need to press the onscreen fingerprint button. The scanner is always waiting ready to scan.

NOTE: If someone is having a very difficult time getting the reader to work it could be because the ridges in their fingerprints are not deep enough for the reader. However 98% of your people should have no trouble getting the reader to work. If you are not getting that kind of success rate, please contact support. There are other System Options that can be tweaked to improve scan rates.
