System Options: Security

Master Kiosk Passcode (System wide)

Default: Blank

The Master Kiosk Passcode is used to access the Kiosk Control Panel as well as any family account in the Kiosk. It is also used for various override functions like checking in an under aged child or accepting a payment during check in.

Because kiosk applications are designed to be accessed by the general public, theAccount Access Screen cannot be closed without a password. When you press in the lower left corner of the Account Access Screen (invisible button about 1 inch high by 2 inches wide), you will be prompted to enter the passcode you define in this system option.

Security Code Format (System wide)

Default: 4 character alphanumeric

The Elexio Check-In application creates a security code every time a person checks into an event. This code is randomly generated at the time of check in AND it is unique to each event making it nearly impossible to create a fake check out receipt in advance. The same code is printed on both the child’s name tag as well as the security receipt of the guardian checking them in or out. It is intended to be a quick way of verifying a guardian’s authorization to pick up a child.

Additionally, this code can be used by numeric or alphanumeric paging systems to call a guardian from the service if needed. You can use this option to specify how you want this code to be formatted.

Override PIN

Default: Blank

The Master Kiosk Passcode is used to access the Kiosk Control Panel as well as any family account in the Kiosk. It is also used for various override functions like checking in an under aged child or accepting a payment during check in.

This can be useful in the following situations:

This passcode must be at least 4 digits and should be used with caution. It is recommended that this passcode be changed on a regular basis to keep your system secure.

The default Master Kiosk Passcode was sent in the initial Elexio Check-In Kiosk set up email when you purchased Elexio Check-In.

Input Timeout

Default: 30 seconds

Use this option to adjust how long the system should wait for input at the Family Selection ScreenEvent Selection Screen, or Update My Account Screen before returning to the Account Access Screen.

Security Code Reuse (System wide)

Default: 14 days

Once a security code has been used, it will be unavailable for reuse for the period of time you specify in this option.

When a person checks in at the Kiosk, a random code is generated based on thesecurity code format for your system. This code is then compared to the codes used in the last X number of days to ensure that it is unique. Please note that the number of available codes will be limited based on the format of your security codes, the number of events processed each day, and the number of people at your church.

If you are experiencing delays at the Kiosk, it could be due to repeated attempts to get a unique security code. If this occurs, try lowering the number of days a code is taken out of circulation. This will increase the number of available codes at any given time but may result in a code being reused more frequently.

Use One Security Code Per Household (System wide)

Default: No

Use this option to specify whether or not to use one security code per household. If this is set to 'NO', then each person checking in will receive a unique code.
