Updating Elexio Database and Elexio Check-In

Elexio Database and Elexio Check-In are designed to update themselves automatically.  You shouldn't need to get involved with the update process. But the following information may be helpful if you want the gory technical details!

How updates work

When you first start Elexio Database or Elexio Check-In, the software checks for updates. If an update is available, it will download and install immediately prior to displaying the login screen.


  • Restart the software regularly. If you leave it up for a week or longer, you may be working on an outdated version.
  • We document almost all new features and bug fixes. You can see these by clicking Help > Revision History.
  • Network administrators should allow users to have install privileges on the machine they are using. Most updates don't require a new installation, but occasionally it may be necessary, and it's a lot easier if you don't have to manually update each computer.

Antivirus security

In some system configurations, Antivirus software or other security systems may interfere with proper installation. Instead of turning off and on your Antivirus protection, most programs allow you to provide exceptions. You just need to add elexioamp.com to the exception list.

For example, here's how to create an exception for Elexio products for Trend Micro Titanium. Other products (Norton Symantec, Kaspersky, etc.) won't have these same exact steps, but it will be this same idea. 

Adding Elexioamp.com to the Trend Micro Titanium exceptions

  1. Open the Trend Micro Main Console
  2. Go to Settings (Gear Icon at the bottom left)
  3. Go to Exceptions List – Websites
  4. Click Add
  5. Enter http*://*.elexioamp.com
    • The asterisks work as 'wild card' characters to cover various possibilities that may be very important to the success of the exception.
  6. Click OK
  7. Click Apply
