    Once you have the Portal set up the way you want, the next step is to promote Portal to your congregation.

    • We recommend that you start with a smaller group first like your leaders, then maybe members and then regular attenders:
    • Run with several test users. Set up some users to try it out. Include various ages and interests, including a few individuals who are not familiar with your database. This will help you anticipate the response and questions of the congregation at large.
    • Be ready for how you will handle items that arise:
      • Questions from your congregation - How do you want them to contact you? Who answers the questions?
      • Handling duplicates for those who sign up with a new email address you didn't have in your database: Duplicate Records

    As your congregation becomes oriented to accessing their information online, you will begin to reap the benefits Portal offers. Below are some helpful materials that you can insert into your bulletins, add to screens, and post on your website to help spread awareness.

Please note some materials use a general reference to "Give Now" and may need to be adjusted to meet your specific church needs.  (Please do not contact Elexio to make these adjustments)
    •  Send out an Automated Email through your database:

    1. Go to the Reports screen in the Database
    2. Search for FCR3601 and find the sub-report that you want
    3. Click Output Wizard
    4. Click Send Email
    5. Select Output a record for every person
    6. Click Preview  - this brings you to Send Mass Email screen
    7. Type your Subject: (example) Login to Your Personal Account from our church website and then send them this sample email
    8. When you are done, click the Preview Mass Email button.

    Why would I want to give online?

    Security and convenience make online transactions an increasingly popular means of donating to an organization. Plus, your ministry enjoys administrative savings (manual check processing and record keeping add up in a hurry). You also can take advantage of the discipline that recurring donations can provide for your giving.

    How do I get started giving online?

    1. Log in to http://ourchurch.elexioportal.com [Replace 'ourchurch' with the real portal name for your church.]
    2. Select My Giving. In this area you can
      • Make a new donation
      • Setup a recurring donation (and manage existing recurring donations)
      • View your Giving History

    Is my online giving secure?

    Yes. Every transaction is encrypted with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), the same industry-standard encryption trusted for online commerce with world-class financial organizations.

    When will the transaction go on my account?

    You set the date when you want your card charged and this will be the date of contribution in our system. For eChecks, the payment will hit your bank 2 banking days later, so a Monday contribution date will hit Wednesday, while a Thursday contribution date will hit on Monday because of the weekend. 

    Can I use an e-check for my donation?

    Yes! In fact it's the best way to give so that the church can avoid paying a 2-4% transaction fee that credit cards charge.

    Can I give as little or as much as I want?

    Donations must be a minimum of $5.00 and there are no limitations on the maximum amount.

    What if I make a mistake and need to have a completed transaction reversed?

    Contact the church office immediately so your situation can be handled appropriately.
