Contacting Parents of Children

Your Elexio Database already comes with pre-built reports to make it easy to create a report for parents of children. Under the Reports tab, search "Parents" and all the pre-build 'parent' reports will appear. 

However, there may be times where one of our pre-built reports doesn't suit your needs. If you're using a Mailing List (M), Custom Search (CS), or Field Chooser (FCR) type of report, it's still easy to communicate with the parents of children. 

Printed options (labels, nametags, spreadsheets, etc.).

  1. Select your report that includes the children whose parents you'd like to communicate with. Click on the Output Wizard button. (For M type reports, the Output Wizard will be a tab).
  2. At the top of the Output Wizard screen, under the "Households or Individuals" heading, select "Output one record per household using household names."
  3. Along the left, under the "Output" heading, select whichever printed option you'd like, then select "Preview" (or "Run Report" for an "M" type report). 

Communication (Email, text, etc.)

  1. Select your report that includes the children whose parents you'd like to communicate with. Click on the Output Wizard button. (For M type reports, the Output Wizard will be a tab.
  2. At the top of the Output Wizard screen, under the "Households or Individuals" heading, select "Output a record for every person.
  3. Along the left, under the "Output" heading, select "Send Email" then click "Preview" (or "Run Report" for an "M" type report).
  4. Compose your email/text and select "Review/Send."
  5. At the top left of the Preview screen, check off "Send to household head and spouse only."

Following the above steps will ensure that emails are sent only to adults or parents of children in your list.
