Facebook: Controlling the image that appears when sharing a web-page

When you share a page on facebook, you can display an image along with your post. If the image you'd like to appear isn't selectable in facebook, follow the steps below to set which one will show:

  1. Add an HTML block to a page. In the block, paste the below code:

    <link rel="image_src" href="http://URL-TO-YOUR-IMAGE" / >

  2. Replace "filepath to your image" with the actual file-path to the image you'd like to appear in facebook. For example, if your image is named "example.jpg," and resides in the "Images" folder in your Files area, the filepath should be /files/images/example.jpg.

(NOTE: If you make the above changes and your new image still does not appear, it's likely facebook has a cached version of your page. Running the URL of your page through Facebook's debugger tool (https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug) usually clears the cache in an hour or two. When you share it again, the correct image should appear).
